The main objectives of the project are:

• To involve schools in discussing, planning and implementing innovative ideas around the theme: Let’s Reduce Waste!  Reduce, Reuse, Recycle in 2010-2012;

• To promote working relationships between schools and local authorities, as well as other community stakeholders;

• To promote, through a well coordinated campaign involving a communication strategy and seed-money prize, the development of practical innovative projects;

• To contribute to environmental education as a stimulating initiative involving pragmatic thought in an international competitions that rewards good practice;

• To execute real, pragmatic impact on waste reduction by schools and communities;

• To motivate and support schools in making a positive contribution to their local community;

• To disseminate, through a multi-faceted communication strategy, the best cases of innovation to serve as stimulus for implementation and other innovative practises around the world.
